━ The Author ━
James H. “Jim” DeVries
Engineer, inventor, entrepreneur, sculptor, and Christian author
A University of Michigan mechanical engineering graduate, Jim spent much of his career developing medical technology. His work resulted in approximately 30 U.S. patents, with additional corresponding patents issued internationally. He later co-founded DLP, Inc., which was acquired by Medtronic.
His Christian faith has remained central throughout his life. Together with his wife, Judy, he established Paraklesis Ministries to support pastors and their spouses. Sculpture also became an important creative and spiritual expression for Jim beginning in 1998.
His experiences in engineering, business, ministry, Scripture study, and art have helped shape his writing on faith, creation, leadership, work, wisdom, and purpose.
